About Pickett Auction Service
Pickett Auction Service runs timed online auctions out of its yard on Highway 95 in Wilder, Idaho, about four miles west of Greenleaf. The regular sales are consignment farm and heavy equipment auctions, and they are big: the fall 2026 sale closed with 1,508 lots of tractors and implements, trucks and trailers, shop tools, fencing and livestock supplies. Bidding happens on Pickett's own site, where each sale opens with a handful of information lots covering preview days, loadout days and payment.
Pickett sells as the sellers' agent and everything goes as is, where is, so the preview days at the yard are when to inspect. There is no shipping. Plan to collect, or send your own hauler, on the loadout days after the close.
Frequently asked questions
What does a lot at Pickett really cost?
Your bid plus a 10% buyer's premium, capped at $500 per item: a $2,000 tractor costs $2,200, and a $12,000 truck costs $12,500 rather than $13,200. Idaho sales tax of 6% applies unless you are a dealer with a resale permit on file, and paying by credit or debit card adds 4%. Cash, check by phone and wire transfer avoid the card fee.
Does Pickett Auction Service ship?
No. The terms say there is no shipping and no shipping staff, so you collect in person or send your own hauler on the loadout days after the sale. Nothing leaves the yard until the invoice is paid in full, and items not collected by the end of loadout are treated as abandoned. A few lots sit away from the Wilder yard, and their descriptions say where.
How do Pickett auctions close?
One lot at a time. Closing starts at 3 pm Mountain time on the last day and lots end in sequence about 30 seconds apart, so a big sale takes hours to finish. A late bid extends that lot's own clock, which is why BidProwl shows each lot's own end time rather than the time the sale starts closing.
