This is a World War II era US military M1 Garand bayonet, also referred to as an M1 grand bayonet, manufactured by the Utica Cutlery Company. The piece is preserved in its original factory or depot protective packaging, featuring a heavy, grease-impregnated Grade C barrier fabric designed for long-term storage and overseas shipment. Stamped markings on the ricasso are visible through a tear in the wrapping and include U.S. over U.C. for the manufacturer, Utica Cutlery, alongside the flaming bomb insignia of the US Ordnance Department. The item is encased with its scabbard inside the protective wrap. The visible metal surfaces exhibit a clean, dark parkerized finish characteristic of mid-20th century military production.
