MING DYNASTY. L:20cm H:29.5cm This is a low-temperature lead-glazed tri-color burial figurine of Ming Dynasty, made of white pottery body coated with green, turquoise and yellow glazes, integrated with rectangular base. The warrior wears a pointed military helmet and turquoise battle robe, with yellow scaled armor decorating chest and leg guards, holding a long-handled weapon while seated steadily on horseback. The horse retains plain white pottery body, only its bridle and saddle are painted green and yellow, with clearly carved mane. The whole composition presents solemn stable posture. Tri-color pottery figurines are ancient burial wares placed in tombs, symbolizing guarding the deceased and pacifying spirits.
