PLAYING WITH BEADS OVAL SEAL. Height:7cm (2.76in) , Width:14cm (5.51in) , Weight:750g (1.653lb) An oval imperial seal of Qianlong reign, Qing dynasty, carved from Shoushan Tianhuang stone. The stone is soft and mellow with golden?yellow tone and natural texture, coated with aged antique patina. The knob is high?relief carved with several intertwined chilong dragons frolicking around a pearl. Dynamic postures, powerful bodies and meticulously rendered manes demonstrate superb craftsmanship of the Imperial Workshop. The side of seal base bears regular?script inscription: ??Supervised and produced by the Imperial Workshop of Grand Qing Internal Affairs Department, dated the 8th year of Qianlong reign??. The vermilion seal face is framed by double?dragon border, with well?composed archaic seal?script in thick deep?cut lines, covered with accumulated ancient cinnabar residues. With premium large?sized Tianhuang material, elaborate chilong carving and clear dated workshop mark, it constitutes a precious surviving imperial Tianhuang seal of Qing court.
