This is a seriously built 1986 Ford F-350 single-cab, short-wheelbase dually that combines the unmistakable look of Ford's final-year Bullnose body style with a completely different level of power, drivability, and finish than a typical surviving work truck.
The single-cab, short-wheelbase configuration is an important part of this truck. Rather than the long footprint of a crew-cab dually, this truck has the compact, muscular proportions of a regular-cab heavy-duty Ford combined with a custom flatbed and dual rear wheels. The result is an exceptionally distinctive vintage Ford that looks every bit as serious as it performs.
This truck has been owned by the auction company for several years, and considerable money was spent having it restored and upgraded for personal use. It is being sold because the owner needs garage space for the next project-not because the truck needs to be finished.
BUILT 460 STROKER - APPROXIMATELY 550 HP
Under the hood is a built Ford 460 V8 with a stroker bottom end, producing an estimated 550 horsepower along with substantially increased torque.
The engine has approximately 4,800 miles since installation.
This was not built merely to make noise or look impressive when the hood is raised. The drivetrain was assembled to make this F-350 a genuinely usable, powerful vintage truck.
The cooling system was upgraded with a new radiator and new coolant lines to support the upgraded powertrain.
UPGRADED 5-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION
The truck's former four-speed transmission was replaced with an upgraded five-speed manual transmission, dramatically improving the usability of the big-block drivetrain.
The combination of the stroked 460 and five-speed gives the truck the torque expected from a serious F-350 while providing an additional gear for more practical road use.
PROVEN HEAVY-TOWING PERFORMANCE
This isn't a restored truck that has only been driven around the block.
It was recently hooked to a fifth-wheel flatbed trailer carrying more than 12,000 pounds and pulled that load for approximately two hours through the West Virginia mountains.
The truck performed exceptionally throughout the trip.
That real-world experience demonstrates exactly what this build was intended to accomplish: combine collectible 1980s Ford styling with the ability to still function as a serious heavy-duty truck.

PROFESSIONAL HIGH-GLOSS BLACK EXTERIOR
The truck received a professional multi-stage high-gloss black paint finish, transforming what was once a working F-350 into a truck with genuine show-quality presence.
The black finish works particularly well with the proportions of the single cab, short wheelbase, dual rear wheels, custom flatbed, chrome wheels, and oversized chrome front bumper.
The truck is reported to have NO RUST WHATSOEVER.
CUSTOM FLATBED & RUST PROTECTION
The custom flatbed was modified specifically to work with this truck's short-wheelbase configuration and fifth-wheel towing setup.
The bed has been extensively finished in a durable hard-shell spray-on bedliner material.
Importantly, the coating wasn't applied only where it can easily be seen.
The protective coating extends across the:
Flatbed surface
Bed structure
Underside of the bed
Headache rack
This was done specifically to provide additional protection against corrosion and wear.
WHEELS, TIRES & CUSTOM CHROME BUMPER
The truck rides on new wheels and tires selected specifically for their respective positions.
The front features chrome truck wheels with proper steering tires, while the rear duals wear a more aggressive all-terrain tread appropriate to the truck's heavy-duty character.
Up front is a substantial oversized custom chrome bumper, giving the short-wheelbase truck an especially aggressive stance.
COMPLETELY RENEWED PERIOD-CORRECT INTERIOR
The interior was extensively restored while deliberately preserving the character
