Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade integral to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a "U"-notch integral to the slide. There is a full-length solid rib along the top of the slide, serrated for glare reduction.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is one-piece checkered brown and black swirl Trolit synthetic panels with a Walther banner at the top on each side. The grips show very minor handling wear. There are tiny cracks around the screw and minor warping, less than is typically found on this material. Possibly due to the warping, the left screw escutcheon turns when the screw head turns, we were not able to remove the grips to inspect underneath. The checkering is well defined. Overall, the grip is in Very Good condition.

Finish Originality: Original, the last three digits of the serial number are hand-scribed on the interior of the slide.
Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright with sharp rifling. There is infrequent faint erosion in the bore, mostly at the muzzle-end. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a few scattered minor marks. The action shows minor operational wear. The screw head is tool marked with a strong slot. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Walther’s original factory was located in Zella-Mehlis in the "Land" (state) of Thuringia. As that part of Germany was occupied by the Soviet Union following World War II, Walther fled to West Germany, where they established a new factory in Ulm. This is a .32 caliber Walther Model PPK made in 1941, with German Police markings, made at the factory in Thuringia. It is in Fine-plus condition with roughly 97% original finish remaining. The bore is mostly bright with sharp rifling and only faint erosion near the muzzle. While the grip material is plagued by warping and cracks, this example's grip shows little of this, quite nice compared to most examples we have seen. It is a 2nd variation with Eagle-C and Eagle/N markings, high-polish blue finish, and a serial-matching slide. This example's high condition would make it a great addition to a Walther or wartime sidearm collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
