Cabinet in the French Gothic Style. This decorative display cabinet, designed in the form of a large terrarium or Wardian case, features a dark-finished wrought iron frame. The structure is built in two tiers, with a rectangular lower section and a smaller, open-work upper section. The lower portion is enclosed with glass panels on all sides and is ornamented with arched metal filigree. Two central hinged doors provide access to the interior. The piece is supported by four scrolled, out-turned feet. The upper section is a stepped metal frame with no glass, capped by a decorative scrolled finial. No manufacturer marks or signatures were identified on the piece.<br>Width: 28 inches, Depth: 17 inches, Height: 44 inches.
