This is an antique galvanized metal fuel can once used to carry gasoline or kerosene. It stands as a tall cylinder with a wood-grip wire bail handle for carrying, a hex screw-cap fill spout on top, and a small vent or pour spout. The galvanized steel body shows a soft gray patina with scattered surface rust, staining, and age spots, which is normal for a can of this age. The bottom shows the ringed reinforcing pattern common on old fuel cans. Condition is good and honest for its age with no major dents that would keep it from displaying well. These primitive galvanized cans are popular for farmhouse, garage, and rustic decor. No maker mark was clearly readable in the photos. Estimated Value: $20 to $45 based on comparable recent sales.
