Matilda is a 17 yo black thoroughbred mare by Written Tycoon that I have owned since late 2017. I unfortunately ran out of time for tilly towards the end of 2020 as priorities shifted onto my younger horses therefore, she has had the last 4 years out of work.
Do not let her age fool you, she loves her job, and I have not had any issues, due to her being paddock rested for 4 years due to no fault of her own she has come back in very happy and bright.
Tilly has jumped up to 1.25m in her younger years but would like to see her go to someone that is happy around the 1.05m mark.
Tilly was brought back into work at the start of the 2025 with no issues while my main horse has been out following some health issues. Tilly is on the hotter side of horses and can get stressed out at major competitions, so she does require a soft experienced rider to give her confidence in bigger atmospheres. NOT IDEAL for a first horse or inexperienced riders.
Since returning to work Tilly is currently back competing competitively up to 85cm. Tilly has attended 3 pony club rallies and a couple of competitions:
Riddles creek Showjumping Day:
Overall D grade (85cm) Champion
2nd place d grade 1 round championships
3rd in two round championships
Whittlesea show (showing)
due to university exams, I was unable to attend her showjumping height classes on Friday
2nd and reserve champion pony club turnout
2nd in led handler
1st and overall champion pony club rider 16yrs and over
2nd for mount my suitable for pony club
I would very much like to see tilly go to an adult rider who does like to do a mix of everything as tilly would make a fabulous dressage mount, showjumping mount, navigation ride mount etc. It is not normal to come home without a ribbon with this horse.
Tilly loves to be able to venture out past the arena and go for trails in MT disappointment and any riding trails (prefers to be in front).
I have managed to solve an issue surrounding her temperament that was a cause of fertility issues as well (no I have no tried to get her in foal since then)
Tilly is not suitable for a horse trials home as she gets very hot out in the competition environment of cross country but loves to school and do pony club cross country.
Tilly has got a scar on her front fetlock from 2023 that does not cause her any grief it is just protrudes from the base of the skin a little bit but no effects to her ability.
I do ride Tilly in a compression hood and she finds a lot of comfort in it and which makes training/schooling and competing very enjoyable for both parties
