Dori was meant to be retained this year, because of her exceptionally quiet temperament, but due to financial reasons she is unfortunately being offered here.
I pride myself to handle my young stock exceptionally well and Dori is proof of that. She leads, ties, floats on her own and is just a pleasure to have around.
Float footage in YouTube video is from the evacuation she went through with the recent Longwood fires. I was leading her and Amali along with another weanling (privately sold) through flames and smoke all by myself. My partner managed to get the float and vehicle through the burning fence and they both just walked on no hassle at all as if they knew they were being taken to safety.
Dori has been with a good friend of mine since early February as I was working out what to do with my horses with the agistment burning down. She's been a companion to my friends riding horse and behaves very well on her own when he's being taken away for rides (sometimes even overnight).
I started doing this with her, as shown in videos, as soon as she was weaned, and took Amali on rides away from her.
She would be the perfect horse to use as a paddock companion already for the time that you wait for her to grow out.
I estimate Dori to be a similar height as Amali (16hh), but she was slightly smaller at birth, so I would think about 15.2-15.3hh mature height.
She's currently with my friend in Tolmie near the high country, so she has her big winter woolies on already. Does know how to be rugged, but has been holding her weight really well so we haven't rugged her yet this winter. With her she's also been exposed to kids, which she loves and is very gentle with, as well as stock whips and gun shots in the distance.
Up to date with farrier, worming and her 2 in 1 vaccinations.
Don't dismiss this plain Jane, she really has the sweetest temperament. Sad sale.
