Us Springfield Krag Bayonet 1895 Dated W/ Scabbard

Krag – Jorgensen bayonet used on the model 1892 Krag rifle. It is the first knife-bayonet issued in the U.S. It measures approx. 11 & 13/16 inches long with a central fuller that is approx. 8 inches long. Ricasso is marked “US” on one side and “1895” on the other. The hilt has a bird head iron pommel and a flat iron guard. The wood grips are in MINT condition and held in place by two iron rivets. Mortise and button attachment works well. The hilt is in overall excellent condition. The scabbard is the Type 1 introduced in 1892 thru 1895. Near MINT
