This collection features multiple hardcover volumes of Ohio Archaeological and Historical Publications and Ohio Archaeological and Historical Quarterly, published in Columbus, Ohio, for The Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society by Fred J. Heer. The group includes various volumes with publication dates spanning the late 19th to early 20th centuries. Specifically noted are Volume III, which includes a 1895 prefatory note by Secretary E. O. Randall identifying it as a reprint of the 1891 edition, and Volume XXVII, published in 1919. The volumes are bound in publisher's dark green cloth in octavo format with gilt-stamped titles and volume designations on the spines. These are ex-library copies formerly belonging to the Library of W. E. Peters in Athens, Ohio, bearing his ownership stamps. Library call numbers (977.1 O37) and volume identifiers are present on the lower spines in white ink. The contents include scholarly articles and historical records such as educational legislation in Ohio from 1803 to 1850, the settlement of Gallipolis, and the history of the Scioto Company.
