This Swiss Vetterli Model 1878 chambered in .41 Swiss is an impressive military rifle from an era when Switzerland was producing some of the finest firearms in the world. Featuring a 33-inch barrel with a dark bore and fair overall condition, this rifle displays substantial age-related wear and visible rust consistent with decades of storage and service. Please note that the bolt is missing. Even with this missing component, the rifle remains an attractive collectible due to the historical significance of the Vetterli system and the renowned quality of Swiss firearms manufacturing. The Vetterli represented one of the earliest successful military repeating rifles and played a major role in the evolution of modern infantry arms.
