Description from HiBid
This Steyr M1888/90 chambered in 8x50R is a classic military rifle from the final decades of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Featuring a 30-inch barrel with a shiny bore and good overall condition, this example retains much of its military character and historical appeal. The receiver is marked "WG," while the stock bears the "RCh" marking, providing additional collector interest. Included is the original cleaning rod, a desirable accessory often missing from surviving examples. Some rust and age-related wear are present, consistent with a military rifle that has seen decades of service and storage. The M1888/90 helped bridge the gap between earlier black powder designs and the modern military rifles that followed. Antique military firearms from this period continue to gain popularity among collectors due to their historical significance and limited surviving numbers. Please see photos.
