This Steyr M1888/90 rifle is an impressive survivor from the Austro-Hungarian Empire and a fascinating example of late 19th-century military firearms development. Chambered in 8x50R and featuring a 32-inch barrel with a shiny bore, this rifle remains in good condition overall while showing the honest wear expected from a military arm of its age. The receiver bears the desirable "WG" marking, and the rifle includes its original cleaning rod. The stock exhibits numerous dents and handling marks accumulated over decades of service, while some areas of rust and wear remain visible, adding character and authenticity. As an antique firearm, no FFL is required for transfer. The M1888/90 represents an important step in European military rifle development and remains increasingly difficult to locate in original military configuration.
