Description from HiBid
This French M16 military carbine chambered in 8mm Lebel is a compact and highly collectible firearm that traces its origins to the battlefields of World War I. Featuring an 18-inch barrel with a shiny bore and good overall condition, this rifle was designed to provide a shorter, more maneuverable alternative to the standard infantry rifle. Notable features include compatibility with the Balle N cartridge, a turned-down bolt handle, military ladder sight, and matching serial numbers on the stock, bolt, and barrel. The rifle also includes its bayonet and original leather carry strap, creating a complete and attractive military package. French military carbines are encountered far less frequently than their full-length counterparts, and matching examples are especially desirable. This M16 offers collectors an opportunity to own a distinctive and historically important piece of French military history. Please see photos. St. Etienne M16 8mm Lebel Bolt 18 Shiny 45957 Good
