Offered here is a Savage Model 1899 lever-action rifle chambered in the scarce .22 High Power (22 H.P.) cartridge, one of the most collectible chamberings in the Model 1899 line. The barrel is clearly roll-stamped "SAVAGE HI-PRESSURE STEEL — MODEL 1899" along the top flat, with the caliber marking "22 H.P." stamped ahead of the receiver. The barrel address further reads "MANUFACTURED BY SAVAGE ARMS COMPANY, UTICA, N.Y., U.S.A." along with a run of patent dates — Feb. 1893, July 25 1893, Oct. 3 1899, May 25 1909, and June 1909 — confirming an early production example of this iconic hammerless lever-action.
