Earthenware Vase. A vintage art pottery vase produced by the Rookwood Pottery Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. This ovoid-form vessel features a short neck and a slightly flared rim, decorated with a continuous relief-molded pattern of sunflowers and elongated foliage. The piece is finished in a uniform soft matte blue glaze. The underside bears the impressed Rookwood flame mark surrounding the RP monogram, with the Roman numerals XLVI below indicating a production date of 1947. The base is further impressed with the shape number 6870 and the decorator initials LE. Height: 11.5 inches. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Thursday, April 30 from 11 am to 7 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
