A pair of American art pottery vases produced by the Rookwood Pottery Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. The first piece is a bulbous earthenware vase, shape number 2722, featuring an embossed band of stylized foliate motifs at the shoulder. It is finished in a uniform matte salmon pink glaze and is dated 1948 by the impressed Roman numeral XLVIII. The second piece is a geometric pentagonal earthenware vase, shape number 6830, featuring a two-tone glaze that transitions from a solid pink body to a mottled light green and cream crystalline-style glaze at the flared rim. This piece is dated 1946 by the impressed Roman numeral XXVI. Both vases bear the impressed Rookwood flame mark, date code, and shape number on the underside. Dimensions: Each approximately 3.75 inches in height. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Thursday, April 30 from 11 am to 7 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
