A Rookwood Pottery earthenware bud vase of ovoid form featuring a short neck and a small flared rim. The vessel is finished in a distinctive two-tone matte pink glaze. The upper portion of the body displays a subtle curdled or mottled crystalline texture, which transitions into a smooth, solid matte finish on the lower half. The base is impressed with the Rookwood RP monogram surrounded by 14 flames, the Roman numerals XXXI dating the piece to 1931, and the shape number 2882. Height: 6 inches.
