Description from HiBid
An outstanding piece of World War I history, this Remington-produced MLE 1907-15 rifle is a U.S.-manufactured French military rifle chambered in 8mm Lebel. Featuring a 31-inch barrel with a shiny bore and good overall condition, this rifle reflects the massive wartime cooperation between the United States and France during the Great War. Particularly intriguing is the apparent absence of French serial numbers and acceptance markings, suggesting this rifle may never have been formally issued. It retains its original wood furniture, military ladder sight, and includes a bayonet, creating an attractive and historically significant package. The MLE 1907-15 served French forces throughout World War I and became an important supplement to domestic French rifle production. Collectors appreciate these rifles for their unique blend of American manufacturing quality and French military heritage. This example offers both historical significance and strong collector appeal.
