Sights/Optics: The sight is a metal bead set on the barrel at the muzzle. The top of the trigger assembly has a pair of drilled, tapped, and filled holes behind the receiver.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are walnut, the buttstock is smooth and has a straight comb, pistol grip, and checkered steel Remington buttplate. The buttplate shows light wear. The forend has grooves with a smooth bottom. The furniture shows some dings and scuffs consistent with normal operation and storage. Most notably, is a small ding on the bottom of the stock and finish wear around the bottom of the semi-pistol grip. There are no chips or cracks present. The LOP measures 13 3/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has light wear with well defined checkering. This furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is semi-bright showing light fouling. There is light erosion throughout the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 8/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. The two portions of the receiver are serial matching. There are areas of operational finish loss on the magazine tube. The receiver shows freckling. The screw heads are unmarred with strong slots. The markings are clear. Most notably is a scratch on the flat of the right side of the receiver and a ding on the top left of the left side of the receiver. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action and safety function correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Remington Model 121SB Mo-Skeet-O Bore is one of the more rare and collectible variants of the Remington 121 Fieldmaster line. Unlike the more common Routledge Bore, the Mo-Skeet-O Bore was specifically marketed in the late 1930s and 1940s for use in the Remington Mo-Skeet-O shooting game, a promotional backyard clay target shooting kit using miniature clay pigeons and .22 shot shells.
This example, manufactured in 1940, features the correct 23½" smoothbore barrel and is marked “MO-SKEET-O BORE.” These rifles were produced in very limited numbers and are highly sought after today by Remington collectors and enthusiasts of unusual rimfire firearms. This one remains in Very Good condition, with a smooth bore, strong mechanics, and its original finish intact.
For the serious Remington or rimfire collector, a Mo-Skeet-O Bore is a true prize—representing not just a firearm, but a unique piece of shooting sport history.
