The body is covered in vivid sapphire?blue ground, fully painted with famille?rose dragon?and?cloud decoration. Vigorous golden dragons coil amid polychrome cloud scrolls with finely rendered scales and manes. Matching square lid fitted with gilded jewel finial, also painted with dragon?cloud motifs. Spout and handle follow the square outline and continue the dragon?cloud scheme. Square foot is adorned with famille?rose lotus?petal frieze; rims of body and lid are gilded. Base is glazed in turquoise?green, bearing gold?enamel seal?script mark ??Qian?Long Nian Zhi??.
