Flintlock Musket .75 Caliber with 42 Inch Barrel. This single flintlock musket is a faithful reproduction of the British Short Land Pattern Brown Bess manufactured by Pedersoli in Italy in .75 caliber. The firearm is equipped with a 42-inch bright-finished steel barrel and a full-length wood stock featuring a raised comb. The stock is accented with polished brass furniture, including a brass buttplate, a serpent-style side plate, three brass ramrod pipes, and a brass trigger guard with a decorative finial. A steel ramrod is housed in the channel beneath the forend. The lockplate is engraved with a crown over GR and is marked PRYCE over 1762 at the tail. Markings on the left side of the barrel include BLACK POWDER ONLY - ITALY, PEDERSOLI - cal. 75, and the serial number BB20553. Italian proof marks are clearly visible, consisting of a dp in an oval, a square containing CL, a crest, and a mark with CIP over PN. The musket is fitted with a blade front sight that doubles as a bayonet lug. Action is functional. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos.
