Description Set one: Puremco "Jumbo Super Thick" dominoes, orange tiles with black OSU-style brand logo and "COWBOYS" on the backs, white pips, in a white inner tray inside the original red printed box; box approximately 7 1/2 in long by approximately 4 1/2 in wide per the tape-measure photographs Set two: butterscotch-yellow plastic dominoes with black pips, in a plain blue cloth-covered two-piece box; box approximately 7 in long by approximately 4 in wide per the tape-measure photographs Construction/Finish: molded plastic tiles, thick with beveled edges on the Puremco set; commercial printed cardboard box and a cloth-covered lift-lid box respectively Marks: "DOMINOES / PUREMCO / PURMAWEAR / JUMBO SUPER THICK" printed on the red box, and the OSU-style logo with "COWBOYS" printed on the orange tile backs; no maker mark, label, or printing of any kind on the blue cloth box or on the butterscotch tiles Attribution note Puremco of Waco, Texas was one of the best-known American domino makers, and its heavy beveled tiles marketed under the Purmawear name were the standard for serious domino players across Texas and Oklahoma for decades. Puremco also produced collegiate sets carrying school logos and colors, which is exactly the format of the orange OSU Cowboys tiles here, sold through college bookstores and gift shops to fans. The OSU brand-style logo with "COWBOYS" reads as an Oklahoma State University set, and in Oklahoma that team tie is a real part of the appeal, but no licensing date, edition, or production year is printed on the box in these photographs. The butterscotch set in the blue cloth box is unmarked; that warm caramel color and black-pip styling appears on a great many mid-century plastic domino sets by various makers, and no maker, material, or date can be established for it. Notes for bidders Plastic dominoes are durable but not indestructible: keep them out of hot storage, since heat can warp thick tiles and can loosen a cloth-covered box's glue, and keep both boxes dry so the cloth covering and the printed cardboard do not stain further. Wipe the tiles with a barely damp cloth only, no solvents or abrasives, which will dull the surface and can attack the printed logos on the orange tiles.
