A lot of 200 rounds of Norinco 7.62x39mm centerfire rifle ammunition, consisting of ten green cardboard boxes each containing 20 cartridges. The cartridges are constructed with dark brown lacquered steel cases and copper-jacketed lead-core projectiles. Prominent markings on the exterior of the boxes include the red Norinco logo, China North Industries Corporation, 7.62 x 39mm, Steel Case, and 20 Cartridges. Visual inspection of the cartridge headstamps confirms the factory code 71 and the production year 93, indicating manufacture at Factory 71 in 1993. This lot represents original commercial Chinese export ammunition imported into the United States before subsequent federal bans on such products.
