MILK GLASS ELECTRIC HURRICANE TABLE LAMP WITH HAND-PAINTED FLORAL SHADE SIGNED MARYLOU Electrified hurricane-style table lamp in white milk glass with a hand-painted dome shade, a tall clear glass chimney and a brass-tone tripod shade ring. The font is molded with fluted panels and draped swags over a slender stem and a stepped octagonal foot, fitted with a brass-tone burner-form socket collar, a perforated gallery, an ornate scrolled dummy wick key, a brass filler-cap boss and a side thumb switch. The domed shade has a crimped ruffled top rim and is hand-painted around the skirt with pink dogwood-type blossoms, olive leaves, fine dark scrolls and soft blue shadow strokes, signed in script "Marylou" beside one spray. Flaws include soiling, dust and interior discoloration on the underside of the shade, tarnish, scratches and white adhesive or tape residue on the brass burner gallery, haze and dust in the chimney, and light scuffs on the milk glass foot. The lamp is shown lit in several frames, but the wiring, the socket, the switch and the old cloth-covered cord and plug are UNTESTED for safety and are not represented as serviceable. Notes for bidders Have the lamp rewired by a competent shop before use - old cloth-covered cords and unpolarized plugs are a fire risk and the cost is small next to the lamp. Move it by lifting the foot and the font body with two hands, never by the shade, the shade ring or the chimney, and remove the shade and chimney separately before transport, since a loose ring lets the shade rock.
