Marlin Model 38

(R) Serial # NSN. .22 Sh-L-LR caliber pump action rifle with a 24” octagon barrel. The bore is excellent, clean with strong rifling. 2/3 length tubular magazine. The barrel is marked “Marlin-Rockwell Corp New Haven CT USA/Patd Mar 17, Sept 15 1914, July 13, 20 1915”. The blued metal finish on the barrel is in very good condition showing edge wear, thinning and scratches with some scattered light freckling. The magazine tube is a brown patina with thinning and heavy action wear. The metal finish on the receiver is a brownish patina showing edge wear and a covering of light freckling. The grooved walnut forearm and matching straight grip butt stock have been lightly refinished and are in very good condition showing some remnant dings and scratches. Original front and rear sights. Plastic butt plate. The action works OK. Made from 1920 to 1930. C&R.
