Excellent selection of two framed pieces of art, both depicting iconic aircraft from the WW2 era.
- The first selection is a photographic print of the Boeing B-17G, also known as “The Flying Fortress”. The Iconic heavy bomber was best known for its role in daylight strategic bombing campaign against German industrial targets. The craft supported a crew of 10 and a bomb load up to 17,600 lbs. at maximum short-range (4,000 to 6,000 lbs. on normal runs). This direct photo showcases the plane flying above a rugged, mountain terrain. Picture measures 17” H x 21 with frame included. Overall picture and frame are in good condition, with only some small scuffs and marks on the frame.
- The second selection is a print of “Cripes A ‘Mighty 3rd” produced by artist Mark Waki. The artwork depicts the P-51D Mustang piloted by Major George E. Preddy Jr., the top-scoring Mustang ace of World War II. In the portrait, the Mustang is engaged in aerial combat against a Messerschmitt Bf-109G amongst the clouds. Picture measures 19.5” H x 25” W with frame included. Overall picture and frame are in good condition, with only some small scuffs and marks on the frame.
