LLADR COLLECTORS SOCIETY PORCELAIN FIGURINE - "TRAVESURA" / "IT WASN'T ME!", No. 07672, 1998, PUPPY WITH TIPPED FLOWER POT, WITH ORIGINAL BOX The ninth Lladr piece from this estate and the only animal subject in the group. A brown and white spaniel puppy sits back on an oval base beside a toppled cream flower pot, ears drooping and head lowered in a guilty look, with a spill of hand-applied pink, white, and coral blossoms and green leaves tumbling out of the pot across the base. The modeling and the title carry the joke, and it is one of the more charming small Lladr subjects. Finished in the soft cream, russet-brown, and pale gray-green Lladr palette with a bright gloss glaze. The underside carries the blue circular COLLECTORS SOCIETY LLADR 1998 backstamp, the impressed model number 7672, and a round paper factory dot printed 720. It comes with its original dark blue Lladr Collectors Society box with a printed end label showing the figure and reading 07672, "Travesura", "It Wasn't Me !", and barcode 7 37859 07672 5. Approximately 4 inches tall. The box corners are split and taped. Sold as one figurine with its original box. Description Lladr hand-painted glazed porcelain figurine of a seated spaniel puppy, body turned with the front legs braced and the head lowered and turned to the side, long drooping ears, and a soft downcast expression. Coat painted white with russet-brown patches over the ears, crown, back, and hindquarters, with the muzzle and chest left white. A cream terracotta-form flower pot lies tipped on its side against the puppy's front legs, with hand-applied blossoms in pink, coral, and white with green leaves and small red berries spilling out of the mouth of the pot and across the base. Shallow oval base glazed pale gray-green with a lightly textured ground surface and a plain rounded edge. The underside is marked with the blue printed circular Lladr backstamp reading COLLECTORS SOCIETY around the bell-flower logo and LLADR at center with 1998 beneath, together with the impressed model number 7672, additional impressed factory characters that are not fully legible in the photograph, and a small round paper factory dot printed 720. Original box included, a dark blue Lladr carton with a white LLADR COLLECTORS SOCIETY label on the lid and a second on the side, and a printed end panel showing a photograph of the figure with the Collectors Society 1998 roundel, the letter B, the number 07672, the titles "Travesura" and "It Wasn't Me !", and barcode 7 37859 07672 5. Stands approximately 4 inches tall per the tape-measure photograph, in which the tape is stood on the carpet beside the figure rather than fixed to it and the photograph is out of focus, so the height is a rough estimate only. Bidders should verify all dimensions from the photographs. Attribution note Lladr is the Spanish porcelain house founded by the brothers Juan, Jos, and Vicente Lladr near Valencia in the 1950s. DAISA is the group entity holding the design copyrights, so any DAISA date in a Lladr mark is a design copyright date rather than necessarily the year the piece was made, and the 1998 in the circular mark here is the Collectors Society year. The Lladr Collectors Society was the company's collector club, and members received or purchased pieces issued specifically through the club, which is why the club name appears in both the backstamp and on the box labels. The Spanish title Travesura translates roughly as mischief or a prank, and the box gives the English title as It Wasn't Me !. The model number 07672 is read directly from both the impressed base mark and the printed box label, and the consignor's identification of this piece as the Lladr It Wasn't Me puppy is consistent with that printing. This is the third Collectors Society piece in this estate group alongside the 07677 Society plaque and the 17658 Dolphins at Play votive, and all three share the same dark blue Society packaging style.
