LANDSCAPE FIGURE FANG ZHANG. Height:5.6cm (2.20in) , Width:2cm (0.79in) , Weight:53g (0.117lb) A square scholar?studio seal of Late?Qing period crafted from fine Shoushan Tianhuang stone, featuring translucent mellow texture and warm orange?yellow tone with soft aged patina. All four vertical sides are decorated with slender?relief carving of landscape, pavilions and travelling scholars in restrained elegant style. One side bears regular running?script inscription ??Carved by Chengbo in imitation of Han style??. The seal face is cut in vermilion seal script modelled upon Han?dynasty seals, with neat balanced composition and clean robust strokes. Aged cinnabar seal?paste remains on seal face. Integrating fine stone, delicate slender?relief, calligraphic side inscription and accomplished seal cutting, it is a representative literati seal of Late?Qing.
