This is a Kay Mustang electric bass guitar featuring an offset double-cutaway solid wood body with a red-to-black sunburst finish. The headstock displays a raised metal Kay logo adjacent to a vertical orange stripe containing the Mustang model name. The bolt-on neck is topped with a fretboard featuring oversized silver-colored block inlays. Hardware includes a group of open-gear tuners, a metal string tree, and a top-loading adjustable bridge. The electronics configuration consists of single-coil pickups with chrome covers, a three-way toggle switch, and a group of control potentiometers mounted on a white pearloid pickguard. A wooden thumb rest is attached to the upper bout. The back of the instrument features a five-sided chrome neck plate with four screws. This model is characteristic of instruments manufactured in Japan for the American market during the late 1960s and 1970s. Burns in-house shipping is available.
