This is a John Deere 2040 tractor. University records show it's in service date as 1981. Tractor had an electrical fire, see pictures. Turf department supervisor is new to the department and knows nothing about the machine other than she was told it had an electrical fire. Please schedule an inspection if you wish to see or know more before bidding. Winning bidder will need to come prepared to load the tractor and haul away. No working on tractor on-site. Sold AS IS-WHERE IS. Ron with Surplus (540-231-5660 or ronald@vt.edu) will be the contact for this unit as the surplus warehouse is less than a mile away.
If using a 3rd-Party agent; buyer must notify seller prior to item removal. Buyer must notify Ron Barrett (ronald@vt.edu) by email with name of person picking up item(s). The buyer must provide agent with a faxed copy of buyer's certificate, including their signed authorization to release their items. Person picking up will be required to sign the Bill of Sale. Removal terms▾
Property may be removed by appointment only and appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance. All items must be removed within ten (10) days from the time and date of issuance of the Buyer’s Certificate. Contact Va Tech Surplus Warehouse @ 1425 South Main Street, Blacksburg, Va, 24060. (Refer all questions to Ron Barrett (540) 231-5660 or email: ronald@vt.edu, between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm) to schedule removal. ** Tractor location is 615 Southgate Dr, Blacksburg VA 24061 (lees then a mile from the Surplus warehouse).** A daily storage fee of $10.00 may be charged for any item not removed within the 10 days allowed and stated on the Buyer’s Certificate. For additional information, please see contact below for any questions. Person removing asset must provide copy of Buyers Certificate at time of removal. The Buyer’s Certificate serves as Proof-of-Purchase and must be presented at the time of item removal.
