Both objective covers are present, and the pair comes in its fitted black hard case with red flocked lining, chrome snap latch and adjustable shoulder strap, along with a yellow folded instruction sheet. The right prism plate is printed "Jason / Commander / MODEL No. 143 / ACTION TESTED / Exclusive GC04 Optics" and the left plate "7 X 35 / FINEST PERFORMANCE / Field 420 ft. at 1000 yds. / FULLY COATED OPTICS / No. E42440". Flaws include a torn and partly missing paper sticker over the case strap bracket with paper residue and adhesive left behind, scuffing and edge wear on the case leatherette with rubbed finish along the lid rim, light scratches and finish rub on the barrel bodies and trim, dust and specks visible on the lens surfaces, and dust and debris in the case lining. Attribution note Jason began in the late 1940s as "Jake and Son," founded by Jake Levin and his son Richard, and was soon shortened to Jason with headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri, importing binoculars, telescopes and other optics; the firm became Jason Empire Inc., was sold to the Carson Companies in 1977, and was acquired by Bausch and Lomb in 1992 and folded into Bushnell, per Optics Reviewer's Jason company history, the Slide Rule Museum's Jason Empire notes, the miniature-binoculars trademark record and reporting from The Wichita Eagle and Bushnell's own company literature. The Commander line with the GC04 optics branding and model 143 in 7x35 was a mid-grade consumer model of that era, and comparable examples are commonly described as Japanese-made.
