Handsome Ithaca Model 51 Featherlight semi-automatic shotgun in 12 gauge, Ithaca's gas-operated autoloader introduced as a lighter-weight successor to the Model 37 line. The barrel is stamped "MODEL 51 — FEATHERLIGHT — 12 GA — 2¾ CHAMBER — PROOF TESTED, ITHACA GUN CO., INC., ITHACA, N.Y. — MADE IN U.S.A. — ROTO FORGED," with an individual serial number stamped on the receiver alongside scrollwork engraving and a full-choke barrel marking.
The satin-finished receiver carries fine floral scroll engraving set against a deep blued vent-rib barrel with a fiber-optic front sight. The walnut stock and forearm are cut with sharp diamond-point checkering panels, and the buttstock finishes with a black recoil pad accented by a white spacer line.
