Description from HiBid
This German Spandau Model 1871 Mauser is a remarkable antique military rifle dating to 1880 and representing the very beginning of the Mauser legacy. Chambered in 11mm Mauser and featuring a 33-inch barrel with a dark bore, this rifle remains in fair condition and displays substantial age-related character throughout. Please note that the rifle is missing both the bolt and trigger guard. Extensive wear is present, consistent with an antique military firearm that has survived for nearly a century and a half. Despite these missing components, the rifle remains an important historical artifact from the era that established Mauser as one of the most influential names in firearms history. As an antique firearm, no FFL is required for transfer. This piece would make an excellent restoration candidate, display firearm, or addition to a collection focused on early military rifles.
