This French Model 1842 percussion musket is a substantial military firearm from the mid-19th century and a remarkable survivor from the black powder era. Chambered in .69 caliber and featuring a massive 43-inch barrel with a dark bore, this musket remains in fair condition and retains strong military presence. The lockplate is marked "MLE Rle de Tulle," linking the firearm to one of France's historic government arsenals. Muskets of this type served during a transformative period in military history as percussion ignition systems replaced earlier flintlock designs. The long barrel, military stock, and original configuration create impressive display appeal. As an antique firearm, no FFL is required for transfer.
