Description from HiBid
Great selection of a Franklin Mint collector series set, perfect for display. First produced in 1978, this is a 50 (or 51) -piece set of miniature sterling silver ingots that chronologically follows 75 years of aviation beginning with the infamous Wright Brothers’ 1903 Flyer and concluding with the Supersonic Concorde. Franklin Mint was known for producing series like this with sterling silver ingots including other focuses such as Cars, Trains, Ships, and U.S. Presidents.
This direct set overall includes 51 individual pieces secured in a decorative case. It appears that the case was designed for 50 slots but ironically there is one more included ingot, making 51 in total. Case has some wear due to the element of time, but it appears it could be cleaned up a little bit with further attention.
Each Ingot is of Sterling Silver 92.5% purity and measures .065 ozt in weight.
51 ingots in total – total weight 3.315 ozt.
