Pair of vintage Fostoria American clear pressed-glass boat-shaped serving dishes, also called gondola bowls or relish trays. This lot includes one large approximately 12-inch boat dish and one smaller approximately 9-inch boat dish; both pieces sell together as one bidding unit.
Each dish features Fostoria's classic American No. 2056 geometric cubist or "ice-cube" pattern, with raised diamond-style facets, sawtooth/scalloped rim, and radiant rayed starburst bottom. Both dishes have elegant upturned scroll handles at each end.
The larger dish measures approximately 12 inches long overall, including handles, and about 5 inches wide. The smaller dish measures approximately 9 inches long overall, including handles, and approximately 4 inches wide. Measurements are taken from the tape shown in photographs and are approximate. Comparable Fostoria American gondola dishes are documented as 12 inches long by about 5 inches wide.
