Vintage clear pressed-crystal glass plate lot in the iconic American pattern by Fostoria Glass Company. This lot includes 4 matching plates: 2 smaller plates measuring approximately 7 inches in diameter and 2 larger plates measuring approximately 9 inches in diameter, based on the tape measurements shown in the photos.
Fostoria introduced its American pattern in 1915, and it became the company's all-time best-selling glass pattern. The pattern is recognized for its heavy clear glass, faceted geometric cube and diamond design, scalloped edge, and radiant starburst center.
These plates have the classic multi-sided "Cubist" optical effect associated with Fostoria American glassware. Their versatile sizes make them suitable for salad, dessert, bread-and-butter, sandwich, or small serving use, while they also display beautifully as part of a vintage crystal collection. A comparable Fostoria American salad-plate set measures 8.25 inches in diameter.
