Description from HiBid
This French MLE 1886 M93 R35 Carbine is a fascinating evolution of the legendary Lebel rifle and a highly desirable addition to any collection of European military arms. Chambered in 8mm Lebel and featuring a compact 17.75-inch barrel with a shiny bore, this carbine variant was created to provide a handier firearm for cavalry, artillery, and support troops. The rifle retains its original wood furniture, black enamel finish, and military sights, including an adjustable rear sight and fixed front sight. The presence of the "N" marking atop the barrel indicates the rifle was modified to safely accommodate the more powerful 1932N heavy-ball ammunition, an important collector feature. Included is a bayonet, further enhancing display value. Combining French military history, unique carbine dimensions, and the pioneering Lebel action, this R35 offers outstanding appeal for collectors seeking something beyond the standard military surplus rifle.
