Flintlock Rifle .45 Caliber with 40 Inch Barrel. This is a single flintlock muzzle-loading rifle designed in the traditional style of an 18th-century Kentucky or Pennsylvania longrifle in .45 caliber. The firearm features a 40-inch octagonal barrel with a dark finish and a muzzle face engraved with a ring of stars encircling the rifled bore. The full-length stock is crafted from highly figured curly maple with a high-gloss finish, further enhanced by incised and relief carvings of scroll and floral motifs on the buttstock and around the cheekpiece. The furniture is comprised of ornate brass components, including a sideplate, buttplate, three ramrod pipes, a nose cap, and a decorative trigger guard. Key markings include the text 1776 LIBERTY 1976 engraved on the trigger guard alongside a Liberty Bell, a pine tree flag, and a thirteen-star American flag, identifying it as a commemorative piece produced for the United States Bicentennial. The rifle is equipped with a standard flintlock mechanism and fixed iron sights, with a wooden ramrod stored beneath the barrel. Action is good.
