Our Assessment: This is a beautifully preserved modern single action revolver that pays faithful homage to the classic Colt Single Action Army profile. Approximately 99% of the original finish remains, giving the revolver a near new appearance with beautiful bluing and case coloring. All major components are matching numbered parts, reinforcing the revolver’s originality and clean condition. The long 7.5 inch barrel provides the traditional sight radius and balance associated with the cavalry length Colt Peacemaker.
The mechanical condition matches its appearance. The bore rates 9.5 out of 10 with sharp rifling and a bright interior. The action functions correctly with positive cylinder indexing, a crisp hammer cycle, and secure lockup. The revolver exhibits the smooth operation expected of American Western Arms production during this period, noted for high quality reproductions that closely followed original Colt patterns.
As a high condition 2003 Peacekeeper reproduction, this revolver presents exceptionally well and captures the aesthetics and feel of the iconic frontier sidearm while benefiting from modern metallurgy and precision manufacturing.
