Description from HiBid
This Japanese Type 99 Short Rifle chambered in 7.7x58mm is an exceptional World War II military rifle featuring several of the characteristics collectors actively seek. Equipped with a 25-inch barrel and shiny bore, this rifle remains in good condition and retains all matching serial numbers. Most importantly, the Imperial chrysanthemum remains fully intact on the receiver, a feature often absent on surviving examples. The rifle also retains its original monopod, an accessory frequently missing from Type 99 rifles today. These early-war features help distinguish this rifle from later wartime production models and significantly increase collector interest. The Type 99 was among the strongest military bolt-action rifles of its era and played a major role in Japanese military operations throughout the Pacific. The combination of matching numbers, intact chrysanthemum, and original monopod makes this an especially desirable example. Please see photos. Arisaka Type 99 Short 7.7x58mm Bolt 25 Shiny 50331 Good
