This Japanese Type 38 Long Rifle chambered in 6.5x50mm Japanese is an outstanding military rifle featuring several characteristics highly sought after by collectors. Equipped with a 31-inch barrel with a shiny bore and remaining in good overall condition, this example retains matching serial numbers throughout with the exception of the dust cover. Importantly, the original dust cover is still present, a feature frequently missing from surviving Type 38 rifles. Even more desirable is the intact Imperial chrysanthemum still displayed on the receiver. The Type 38 served Japanese forces for decades and earned a reputation for reliability, accuracy, and durability. Long rifle variants are becoming increasingly difficult to locate, especially examples retaining original accessories and intact military markings.
