This pair of Rookwood Pottery production line vases is crafted from glazed earthenware featuring a matte pink glaze with tan and cream mottled highlights. The smaller vase, model 2284, is of tapering ovoid form with a short flared rim and a molded relief band of a geometric checkerboard pattern around the shoulder. The base is impressed with the Rookwood logo of a reversed RP with 14 flames, the Roman numeral date code XXVI for 1926, and shape number 2284. The larger vase, model 2882, features a tapering cylindrical body with a narrow neck and a broad molded relief band of stylized foliate and Art Deco butterfly motifs.
