The tools are constructed of forged steel, some featuring riveted wood handle scales. Prominent manufacturers represented include the Bridgeport Hardware Mfg. Corp., with several marked tools such as the No. 120 crate hammer, the Nox-Tox all-metal hammer, and a No. 21 combination tool. Advertising and promotional implements are featured, notably a Swift and Company tool also marked for Queen Regent Toilet Soap with the Shapleigh Hardware Co. Diamond Edge logo. Other advertising pieces include a Clark Bars Are Great cast hammer and tools marked Bixby's Box Opener and Box Terrier. The collection includes specialized industrial pieces such as a Railway Express Agency hatchet-hammer stamped RY. EX.
