Cavalry Collar Branch Insignia Pins WWI Era. A collection of seven early twentieth-century US Army collar branch insignia pins, dating to the World War I era. The collection represents both Infantry and Cavalry branches, including several regiment- and company-specific devices. The first group comprises two US Army Infantry collar insignia pins from the 13th Infantry Regiment, Company I. These devices depict crossed rifles with the regiment number 13 positioned above the intersection and the company letter I below. Both utilize threaded screwback posts with circular knurled thumb nuts. One pin retains a bright gold-gilt finish, while the second example displays a heavily darkened, oxidized age patina.
