Certificates Financial Ephemera and 1914 Railroad Map. This group of financial ephemera primarily originates from Ohio and dates from the 1890s through the early 1920s. A notable portion of the collection includes stock certificates issued in 1920 and 1921 to Chief Yellow Dog or Juanita Yellow Dog of Nelsonville, Ohio. Issuing companies include The Templar Motors Company of Cleveland, The All Weather Top and Body Company of Cleveland, The Columbus Templar Motor Company, and The Canton Rim Company of Canton, Ohio. These certificates are printed with ornate engraved borders in green, orange, and grey; several feature a prominent eagle vignette and applied gold foil corporate seals. The collection also includes a 1914 Ohio Railway Map published by The Columbus Lithograph Co. of Columbus, Ohio, which is contained within a black cloth-bound folder. The map features a large fold-out design with a steam locomotive vignette. Also present is a large quantity of cancelled checks from The Bank of Athens and The Athens National Bank in Athens, Ohio, many of which are signed by L. G. Worstell and dated between 1893 and 1924. Supplementary materials include an advertising trade card for Burdock Blood Bitters produced by Foster, Milburn and Co. of Buffalo, New York, as well as corporate correspondence from The Templar Motors Corporation on Guardian Building, Cleveland stationery.
