THREE VINTAGE BLACK LEATHER HANDBAGS - AUSTIN DESIGNS LIZARD-GRAIN SATCHEL, CLEMENTE PLEATED BAG, WOVEN FLAP SHOULDER BAG Three black handbags in leather or leather-look material. First is a lizard-grain double-handle zip satchel with gold-tone hardware, a trimmed front band, a removable strap clip and an interior zip pocket carrying an oval plate reading "austin designs ". Second is a soft pleated frame-style shoulder bag with an interior zip pocket and a script plate reading "Clemente". Third is a small flap shoulder bag with a basket-woven front panel, two ornate silver-tone scroll corner ornaments set with clear rhinestone-look stones, a thin adjustable strap and a magnetic snap closure with silver-tone corner caps on the flap. Condition is used with rubbing and sheen loss on the flap bag's interior leather, a dusty and soiled lining in the plated bag, creasing and slack in the soft leather, and general handling wear at corners, handles and edges. Zippers, snaps, strap hardware and linings are UNTESTED beyond what the photographs show, and because most frames did not upload, additional wear, stains, odor or damage may be present that is not described here. Sold as a lot of 3 as pictured. Description Pieces/Form: three handbags - one double-handle zip satchel, one soft pleated shoulder bag, one small woven-flap shoulder bag. Construction/Finish: lizard or reptile-embossed grain on the satchel with gold-tone hardware, top zip and interior zip pocket; soft plain leather on the pleated bag with interior zip pocket; woven leather strip panel on the flap bag with silver-tone scroll corner ornaments, magnetic snap and silver-tone flap corner caps. Marks: interior oval plate "austin designs " in the satchel; interior script plate "Clemente" in the pleated bag; no mark was photographed on the woven flap bag, so no maker is claimed for it. No country-of-origin or material tags were photographed. Size: satchel body height approximately 8 inches per the tape-measure photograph. All other dimensions are ESTIMATES - satchel roughly 13 to 15 inches wide, pleated bag roughly 11 to 13 inches wide, woven flap bag roughly 9 to 10 inches wide with a long adjustable strap. Attribution note Clemente is a label seen regularly in the vintage resale market on leather and reptile-skin handbags, with sellers on Poshmark, eBay and Etsy dating examples to the 1960s through the 1980s and some marked Made in Hong Kong; no company history for the label could be confirmed. No reliable history was found for the "austin designs" mark, and the similarly named present-day businesses located in searching are unrelated, so nothing is claimed about that maker's origin or date.
